Continuing the Cycle: Experiment, Adapt, Share and Integrate

We have discovered a cycle at FHS that is working and increasing the strength of our programs. Staff are experimenting with new strategies in the classroom, they are adapting them to work best with their students, they are then sharing their ideas with colleagues who then are integrating the ideas into their programs.  This cycle is working and I am so excited for the outcomes for our students. We need to continue to experiment, adapt, share and integrate!!

Our FHS Tech Slam was a perfect example. Teachers attended the GAFE Summit and were super pumped about what they learned. A week later they were presenting in a fast paced "slam" environment to colleagues. Literally, the next day, others on campus were already trying the things they had learned. The upside for our students? Students will be experiencing more engaging and more rigorous lessons across the campus. This cycle continues to get us one step closer to realizing our goal of having all FHS students graduate high school and departing high school college and career ready.

Here is the Youtube link for our FHS Tech Slam:  FHS Tech Slam 2015

The cycle is also being seen with our students. The students involved in the VEX robotics club are constantly going through a cycle of experimentation, adaptation, sharing, and integration. Since our partnership with Suisun Valley, David Weir and First Lego League, our students are now sharing and building capacity with the elementary students.

At the Career Fair we held on Wednesday, industry reps from all over Solano County shared potential job opportunities with our students. I can't begin to tell you how many conversations took place about internships. Our students were asking for internships and the industry reps were ready to offer!! Another great example of collaboration and sharing!

Our ONE goal: To graduate every Fairfield High Student and to ensure that they leave FHS college and career ready!!! Inspire, Engage, Excite, Lead, Foster, Create, Empower!!

Many more great things are in store for Fairfield High!

Continue to be innovative, creative, and a model of excellence!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK
