Taking Time to Pause...

Do you ever feel that you are constantly rushing? Do you ever feel under pressure to get things done, look at the calendar, and realize you still have more time? I ask these questions because I at times find myself feeling this way. Feeling rushed or pressured is not conducive to being productive at what we do. It is so necessary to hit the "pause" button every once in a while.

Our jobs in education can be demanding. It is a reality that we need to be very prepared going into each and every day of the week. Our students, staff, and parents are counting on us to deliver a quality educational experience. However, if we are unfocused or we rush on our preparation then our delivery is going to be less than stellar. We have all heard the saying in many different ways.... if you try to do too many things you won't do anything well.

The Leadership Team recognizes the importance of having a solid focus that the entire site can dedicate to. The Leadership Team recognizes that we can take on a roll of support to help guide implementation. We met last week and determined that for the months of September and October we are going to focus, site wide, on the following portion of our WASC Action Plan:

As you plan your lessons make time to focus on your objective and key academic vocabulary. As a site we will continue to share and collaborate on instructional best practices. We started a shared Google folder a few weeks back titled "FHS Killer Ideas" that you can visit to review and add resources to at any time. Here is a link to that folder in a "view only" format: https://goo.gl/9sOQMv
Each FHS teacher has an editable version in his/her Google Drive.

Our ONE goal: To graduate every Fairfield High Student and to ensure that they leave FHS college and career ready!!!
Inspire, Engage, Excite, Lead, Foster, Create, Empower!!

Many more great things are in store for Fairfield High!

Continue to be innovative, creative, and a model of excellence!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK
